Replaced leak-prone pipes; installed new water
tankers and storage systems.

Extended water lines to latrines, labs, and MNCH

Woreda level advocacy workshop
was conducted with 200 (123M and 77F) from relevant sectors

Capacity building training was
provided for 352( 194M, 158F) Village health leaders /VHL/ and
Volunteers to strengthen community
engagement for hygiene promotion and use of sanitation services. in5
target weredas, Mekoni, Raya-azebo,
Raya-chercher,Raya-alamata and Alamata-Town

Prepared and disseminated 250 posters to convey the key
messages in the HFs of the five woredas
to increase cholera prevention public awareness.

Provided orientation/message on AAP and
PSEA with appropriate channel and
feedback mechanism: integrated with other activities.

WASH Practice in house holds

Village Health Leaders (VHLs) established by the
Tigray Regional Government.
o
Each VHL oversees 80-100 households, focusing on
latrine construction, hygiene education, and community mobilization.
o
Hygiene promotion, community mobilization, WASH
facility support, and monitoring progress toward Open Defecation Free (ODF)
status.
Training:
- TYES and UNICEF trained 7
VHLs and 1 volunteer per kebele across the 5 woredas (total 352 VHLs).
- VHLs act as role models,
influencing 3-10 neighboring households to adopt WASH practices.
